Sketch Girl #9

A new Sketch Girl sketch is up just in time for those Thanksgiving cards. I don’t think everyone thinks of Thanksgiving as a card giving holiday but it definitely should be. Its the perfect day to let someone know how much you care. So why not whip up a card with the fab new sketch to give to your hostess that day or a dear loved one. Also check out all the other lovely Sketch Girls inspiration this week.

Sketch Girl #8

Sketch Girl #8 is up. I love that this sketch is a bit different and not necessarily what you would expect. Got to love a real challenge. I loved working with Sassafras Lass for this sketch. These stickers are made to scale for LOs but I love their oversized bold look on the card. I’d love to see your take on this sketch and I hope you check out some of what the other amazing Sketch Girls came up with!

Sketch Girl #7 is up!

It’s the 15th which means its time for another awesome sketch from Sketch Girl! This card is made almost exclusively from Making Memories supplies. The rest of the DT has some fabulous cards for you so check them out on my sidebar. Also Amber is joining us once again as a Guest DT Member. We all adore her work and have been so honored to have her join us these past few weeks. But we also would love for you to join us on this sketch! You have until the end of the month so if you need to whip up a quick Halloween card or want to get started on those Holiday greetings consider using this fun simple sketch.

ICS and Pink Elephant

On World Card Making Day I spent some time with my mom making cards. I made this simple card with the ICS sketch and the Pink Elephant challenge. I haven’t participated at Pink Elephant in awhile but I love their variety of challenges. This week you had to use dots, a tag and a punch. This card came together really quick since its only a tiny 3×3 but also because I kept it simple only using Making Memories supplies. The other card I made was for a future Sketch Girl sketch so I can’t share it yet but remember to check out their current sketch because there is a chance for a prize and a fab guest designer this week!

Happy World Card Making Day!

Happy World Card Making Day everyone! I’m excited that such a fun holiday even exists and I will be celebrating by making time in my schedule to make a card in honor of the day. If you’re getting in the spirit this weekend head over to Digiments and pick up some free sentiments that will give you a headstart on your Halloween or Thanksgiving cardmaking. While you’re there leave a comment to win all the Digiments ever released! Now that you have a sentiment how about heading over to Sketch Girl for a lovely sketch. Remember there will be a prize for one lucky participant! After that you just need to break out your stash and have at it.

Sketch Girl #6

Sketch Girl 6 is now up! I made this card to coordinate with a scrapbook page that I’ll be giving my cousin for his birthday. (I’m hoping to get a better picture in the daylight, flash never looks as nice) The page is about our Hooters trips on our annual vacations. When we drove to Florida we visited 5 Hooters in 4 states and my little cousin gets his picture taken with the Hooters girls. So for his birthday I made a page to include all the pictures. I suppose the paper on the LO may seem a little girly but I’m planning to add journaling over it so there won’t be much showing in the end. Plus with all those cute Hooters girls I don’t think he’ll be paying much attention to the paper. Also to explain the overwhelming number of owls the Hooters restaurant symbol includes an owl (Hoot-ers).

Sketch Girl is particularly exciting this week because we have Amber as our lovely guest designer. So check out her card as well as the work of all the talented Sketch Girls who you can find on my sidebar.
I feel bad for not being able to post more, comment more, or participate more but grad school and my two part time jobs have kind of taken over my life. I hope to catch up on the blogs of many talented ladies this weekend.

Sketch Girl #5

The new Sketch Girl sketch is up and it is fun and fresh and funky. I love it! When I saw the sketch I immediately thought of the tags I won from Every Jot and Title on Etsy. I’m determinedto get a head start on holiday cards especailly since I might take part in a holiday craft show. So it may seem a little early to some but its better than scambling at the last minute. The puffy sparkly stickers were ones I found on clearance at Borders bookstore. They have some really cute stationary stuff that can be used for scrapbooking so if you ever see their clearnance bins take a peek. I can’t wait to see your take on the Sketch Girl sketch and remember there is a prize this week so be sure to check it out!

Sketch Girl #4

Sketch Girl 4 is up! And if that’s not exciting enough, this week you have the opportunity to become a Sketch Girl Guest Designer just by participating in the sketch. So this week when you share your interpretation take special care to make it your best work and you could become a Sketch Girl for sketch 6 and 7! I’m so excited to see what you all create! My take on this week’s sketch is a folder for my door at school.
In other news, sorry for being so inactive. I usually love to do lots of challenges but last week I moved back to school and I am a mentor in residence for the new freshmen. We’ve had lots of activities planned for them and lots more things to plan. Besides just all the hanging out and fun that are standard with college. I’m a bit sore from beach volleyball and tired from all the craziness but super excited to be back at school. The freshmen I’m living with are a great bunch and I’m excited to be helping them out. Hopefully things will settle down a bit since I start classes today and I can get some crafty time too. When I did get crafty this week for the Sketch Girl sketch I decided let me get two things done at once and make a little folder for the residents to leave any notes while I’m out.

Caardvarks and Stamp Something

This first card is for the current Caardvarks challenge to use myStampBOX (their current sponsor) logo colors which are hot pink, black and white. I actually don’t have a lot of black and white in my stash but thanks to a recent Paper Crafts Blog win I had the perfect black and white chipboard to be the jumping off point for me. When I created this card the Cupcake Craft challenge was to create a ‘sweet’ card so I made the little candy piece for the center. But with the craziness of moving back to school the posting on the card was delayed.
This second card is for the Stamp Something challenge to stamp a birthday something. I love my Hero Arts elephant collection but find it hard to match at times. But I was determined to use it for this challenge. This card also incorporates the current Sketch Girl sketch but I’ve flipped the sketch a bit. I have really enjoyed seeing everyone’s interpretations of the Sketch Girl sketches and can’t wait to see more so please join us.
